About NAMI

All proceeds from Grrl Talk go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Austin Chapter.

NAMI Austin is a nonprofit volunteer network of families, mental health consumers, and professionals dedicated to improving the quality of life for people affected by severe mental disorders through support, education, and advocacy.

NAMI Austin offers education for family members through its Visions for Tomorrow and Family-to-Family classes, which focus on information regarding brain disorders, treatment knowledge, coping skills, and self–advocacy.

NAMI Austin provides regularly scheduled support groups for families and consumers, while advocating policies for nondiscriminatory and affordable access to effective medications, support services, housing, and all economic opportunities.
